The Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority is an Investment Agency of the Federation set up to manage funds in excess of Budgeted Hydrocarbon Revenues. As an Investment Fund, it investing in real and financial assets such as stocks, bonds, real estate, precious metals, or in alternative investments such as private equity fund or hedge funds.

NSIA’s ownership structure covers all three tiers of government while the NSIA Act 2011 provide for further capital contribution to be funded largely from excess proceeds from the sale of crude oil. The capital distribution structure will be apportioned using the existing ratios for ownership structure.
