Prior to his appointment as a Non-executive Director at the NSIA, he spent over 26 years at the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), a parastatal under the Nigerian Ministry of Finance, charged with protecting the banking system from instability, rising from Deputy Manager to Controller, Kano Regional Office.
Prior to joining NDIC, he worked at the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) as an Investment Manager. Before NDIC, he had also worked in the New Nigeria Development Company (NNDC) also as an Investment Manager.
He has attended courses locally and internationally. Mr. Oniyangi holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Ahmadu Bello University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the same institution. He is a Member of the Institute of Management Professionals.
