Mrs. Makoju holds the position of Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer within the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), Nigeria’s sovereign wealth fund, which was set up to contribute to Nigeria’s economic objectives.
Olubisi’s responsibilities are pivotal to the strategic development and execution of the organisation’s objectives, which include fostering economic development in Nigeria in focus areas such as financial infrastructure, technology, agriculture, healthcare, and renewable energy.
She oversees enterprise risk management, operational efficiency, and strategic fnancial planning in her role. Furthermore, she is currently leading a transformative journey within the organisation which is geared towards enhancing NSIA’s capabilities and maximising its impact.
Prior to this time, she was the Financial Controller at the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority. She holds an MBA from the University of Warwick, UK, and is a first-class graduate in Accountancy from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. She is a remarkable leader, keen on engaging the mind in pursuit of institutional objectives.
Her professional journey spans over two decades, delivering value across oil & gas, information technology and financial institutions. Throughout her career, Olubisi has consistently demonstrated her ability to deliver value through strategic leadership.
Olubisi is passionate about women’s empowerment and currently leads the NSIA women’s network, helping promote career development, coaching, and mentoring for women within the organisation.
